Monitoring Climate Conditions Directly in the Bioclimate Park
At the Bioclimate Park Drienová, we are now monitoring local climate conditions using automatic weather stations. The monitoring helps us better understand the local climate and the conditions that influence water in the landscape, soil and vegetation.
The weather stations are located in the Bioclimate Park Drienová and in the town of Rajec. This allows us to compare conditions in the park’s nature-based environment with those in an urban environment and observe differences in temperature, humidity, precipitation, soil conditions and other meteorological parameters.
The weather stations will be used for long-term monitoring of climatic, hydrological and soil conditions as part of the WATERGRID project, funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme. The data collected will help us better understand processes taking place in the area and monitor conditions related to drought, water retention in the landscape, heavy rainfall and climate change adaptation.
Check the current weather conditions in the Bioclimatic Park Drienová and in Rajec and compare the data.
Click on either weather station to explore more detailed information and historical measurements.
